The magnificent Château of Arricau-Bordes, with its sweeping view of the Pyrenees, has contributed greatly to the ennoblement of the Madiran appellation. The ancestral vineyard, which has been recently renovated, comprises 12 parcels over 14 ha planted mainly with Tannat. The work of six near-alchemist winegrowers raises this variety to sublime heights on its native soil.

Madiran from the start

Profile

Château Arricau Bordes has a deep red colour with glimmers of mauve, showcased by the delicate nature of the aromatic palette: it effortlessly combines dark fruit flavours (blackberry, blackcurrant) with spicy notes (black pepper and cloves). The instantly silky and supple mouth-feel evolves towards a beautifully well-balanced, mellow wine. Sweetness envelops the fine tannins which emphasise the long, delicious finish of this fine cuvée blend.

White

Château Arricau Bordes also produces a sweet white, the Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh.
