THE HISTORY |
|
|
In 1979, during a visit to California, Gascon winegrowers realised the potential of their grape variety ‘French Colombard' which constituted the main variety for the production of Californian white wines. In Gascony, the very same grape variety was only used to make Armagnac.
A few years later, Colombelle - THE reference for vin de pays des côtes de Gascogne - was created … a fresh, fruity white wine with extraordinary aromas made from Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Listan.
In 1989, Colombelle was served at a Heads of State banquet at the Louvre Palace.
Colombelle conquers the five continents. It goes well with the spicy, sweet and sour flavours of Chinese, Thai and Philippine cuisine, complements Norwegian salmon, challenges fizzy drinks in California and is present at the Carnival in Rio!
